Two groups, both sulphurised
It seems that two groups of tomatoes have formed: The ones in the little veggie plot and the ones in the bigger one. Before you say “Dah, that’s obvious!”, I’m not talking about groups by location, but by how well they’re doing.
The ones in the little plot are doing really really well, growing quite rapidly. Unfortunately for the others though, they’re taking their sweet time… Since they’ve all been planted way too late, I sure hope they manage to catch up and give us a tomato-rich summer.
To make sure they’re healthy when they grow up more, I powdered some sulphur over all of them this morning. This is supposed to keep them free of illnesses and parasites, giving them a chance to become stronger. Normally this should be applied when they’re a few weeks old, but since this years tomato planting hasn’t been optimal, I’m thought of doing it a bit later.
I simply got some sulphur in powder form and sprinkled it over them. It’s important to protect yourself when doing this, as sulphur can be very harmful if it gets breathed in!
