On the fast lane
Most of the tomatoes are starting to grow very quickly now, with little leaves popping out by the “branches”. These are the kind of leaves that need to be removed, so that the energy can go into growing upwards, as opposed to sideways. Making sure that this happens is quite easy: Check every plant and look for little leaves growing around the lower part of the stem. If found, get rid of them!
One plant had its stem snapped off because of the wind, as it had grown so much when it was little. The problem was, that it seemed to have two main stems at the top, not one main one. Luckily though, there’s a new bunch of leaves growing out the very top, which will hopefully develop into becoming the new stem. Fingers crossed!
I’ve also seen the first flowers starting to develop today, how marvellous 😀
