Sugru to the rescue!
Or should I say “to the resgru”?! Either way, it’s awesome!
If you’ve never heard of Sugru or don’t know what it is, take a look over at the Sugru website or just check out this short video.
Having heard of it when it just came out, we had initially thought of getting some for various things that needed fixing. Unfortunately though, we didn’t get it back then, what turns out to have been a mistake.
Luckily though, I got 2 free samples of it at the PHP Benelux conference in Antwerp, so we had the chance to play with it and see how amazing it really is. In no time, we fixed all the laptop charging cables and pre-emptively put it on the new ones too, to not even give them the chance to get frazzled.
Due to the excitement of fixing all the things, I totally forgot to make “before” pictures, so there are only “after” ones here. You can look here to get an idea of a classical “before” picture though (also the guide I followed to repair our broken charger).
As you’ll have seen in the video (if you watched it), there is a short scene showing a fix for shoes. Having shoes that got broken in the front, the obvious step was to fix them! Not only does it work so far, but it also looks like part of the original shoe design
Finally, the little “feet” of my laptop had all fallen off, making it a scratchy, non-grip surface. Now, with the new ones I made for it, it not only looks super-cool (yes, you can admit it), but it also has a good grip now and doesn’t scratch any more! I had a little bit of yellow extra that I mixed in with the black, giving it a stylized effect, check it out.
Voilà, some pictures.
