Starting to fill the garden
Tonight I’ve planted a few more in the little veggie plot. After digging up the earth to mix some new compost and manure with it, I first had to move the solar panel cable that was buried there. Tucking it in nicely to the edges, the plot was now open for work. The earth here desperately needed new soil, it was just too sandy. Now it’s nice and soft, just the way it should be 🙂
There is enough space here for 6 plants, which will give us a whole bunch of delicious tomatoes once they take off. I also planted 2 more in the little patch next to it, where the other tomato pots are at the moment. The pots will be moved at some point and more tomatoes planted in that space.
The potted ones have had their first few days outside and a few leaves have already dried out, but that’s normal I guess, happened last year as well. Important is the main stem, as it’s the life line of the plant.
What’s important to note here, is that I’ve taken away the little leaves that started growing at the bottom of the stem, since we want the plant to grow upwards, not sideways!
