Day 52: Getting used to the new home
It’s been a while since the replanting of the watermelon shoots and getting used to the new home hasn’t worked out for all of them. Some just didn’t seem to root properly and started to die unfortunately. But some, which is far more important, seem to have adapted to the new environment, growing pretty well 🙂 Which is very nice to see.
Yesterday I started to spray them with a biological poison to prevent a certain type of fungus from growing that is a very common problem here where we live. It had started to grow on the tomato plants and the gourds. To prevent it from starting and to get rid of it, one can use sulphur, which is exactly what I did. I sure hope it works and keeps them nice and healthy. The good thing is, that when they are treated as small plants, there is no need to treat them again when they are bigger. I’ll have to look and see what happens, as I don’t have that much experience yet.
Anyway, as always, here are some pictures of the current watermelon shoots in their new homes.
