Removing what is old
As with many things, there comes a time where old and dead things must be shed. Today’s the day for the tomato plants to get a good trimming, removing all the dead (and dying) branches and all the tomatoes that weren’t going to make it.
For one of the plants, I’ve decided to chop it all the way down. I’ve left it in to be able to see the structure of the roots when this season is over and they all get dug out, to hopefully gain some insight on how the ollas should be placed next year.
On top of the plant clearing, there have been quite a few weeds growing after there had been some rain. The brilliance of the ollas is getting more and more apparent.
