Ants, the smooth criminals

Such awesome little creatures, milling about all day doing stuff. It always fascinates me to see their immense paths and the amount of ants marching along it, like a huge, never-ending parade. A constant mission of moving things from one place to another.

We have a lot of different ant colonies here that show themselves from time to time, especially if there is some interesting commodity to “steal”. There has been an operation of mass seed theft, when they took off to raid the radish bush and move a whole ton of seeds to their den, and in another instance an unpleasantly “sweet” move in munching away all the buds of a rose plant.

They’re latest heist involves dog food, yep, the delicious stuff our doggies would do anything for.
