Mulch, finally

What I’ve done today should have been done on day 1, I know… Adding mulch as the top layer to keep the moisture in the earth as much as possible, to form a natural “sun-shield”. Well, today was the day for it to be added.

After clearing out the areas around the stem and digging a bit of a moat, i added new manure and covered it with some of the dug out earth. Then the final layer was some mulch we had lying around in a box.

The manure should give all the plants an energy booster and the mulch should help keep the soil moist. Let’s hope this works out and helps the tomatoes get even juicier!
