Day 14: Growing rapidly

In the past few days, the watermelon shoots have literally been “shooting” skywards. It’s amazing how all the seeds have managed to become a plant, it baffles me. Being off season I would have thought they only a few would make it, but now I’m faced with the problem of replanting so many and finding space to put them all. I might have to make a selection of only the “best looking” ones, whatever that means. Since I’ve learned that each watermelon plant gives multiple watermelon fruits, I don’t think it makes sense to have so many plants, also regarding the fact that these plant get massive!! So soon I will have to choose the ones I feel most for. And then support them and watch them more closely to keep them going.

It’s interesting to see how most of them are already quite big, but still there are a few little ones starting off on their journey 🙂
